Stimuli analysis # 1 Breton, A 1926, The Spectral Attitudes

The Spectral Attitudes is a poem by Andr Breton. When I first saw this poem, I did not fully understand the meaning of this poem. Especially in the first two lines of poems, I thought it was very irrational. But as I read slowly, I found that in fact, each scene in this poem is independent but has a little connection. The picture in this poem is very beautiful, it is like a movie, but also like a dream, we follow the poem and roam in a scene. All the scenes are very psychedelic, just like “I know of drapery in a forgotten town mentioned in the poem, if it pleased me to appear to you wrapped in this drapery.” Two unrelated sentences combined are very interesting, like switching between two scenes, and like philosophy. I think the Methodical lens of this poem is Poetic. Many imaginary things are used in the poem to form a story. The author is using different scenes to express his emotions and moods. The narrative themes of Stimuli are Social. The poem tells a social story. Although the content inside is psychedelic, if it happens one day, it will be an interesting story in our society.

Stimuli analysis # 3 Quinoa 2006, motion picture, Absurda, Los Angeles

In this short film, what impressed me most was the effects of lighting and sound. The dark background and a small amount of light made the atmosphere of the whole short film very mysterious. Although the protagonist is only cooking quinoa and telling stories, the whole short film looks very much looking forward to David's next operation because of the lighting effects. The feeling of the whole short film made me feel like I was chatting with a friend or an elder. What David said seemed serious, but he wanted to be chatting with you. At the same time, I think director David is also very surprised when he tells the story about Coca-Cola. The whole story stops and has nothing to do with cooking quinoa, but the lighting atmosphere when telling the story is the same as the background lighting and sound of cooking quinoa. I think the Methodical lens of this short film is very Poetic. The story he tells is illusory. Although it is real, the background music and lighting effects make the story look illusory. Regarding Narrative, I think he is telling a story about culture, about currency, stories about people in different places, and stories about Coca-Cola.
